Ever since we opened the theatre doors 3 years ago and even longer on the cafe side I have wanted a Jazz band within our walls and we finally are getting it….oooohhh that saxaphone how I love thee!! Jacob Do will be performing April 9th in the Grande Parlour with his 5 pc Jazz Band.
Canadian saxophonist, composer and arranger Jacob Do leads a group of Montreal and Edmonton musicians that culminates in an energetic and sophisticated jazz ensemble. With strong roots in the jazz tradition, the group aims to deliver a high level of improvisation that includes aspects of storytelling and interaction. Jacob, Max Zhang (trumpet), David Rourke (guitar), and Daniel Verdecchia (drums) are all current students at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, where they have studied with some of North America’s finest musicians, including Remi Bolduc, Kevin Dean, John Hollenbeck, a*This tour is made possible by the support of the Schulich School of Music’s Enriched Educational Opporunities (EEO) program.*nd Andre White, among others.
